Forward Looking Consumer Survey

1,500 respondents

Consumers May Prefer Price Certainty

  • While RR's Intent to Eat Out Index continues to seek the formation of a clearly defined trend, it is notable that a sharp decrease in an "about the same" answer this month suggests that consumers maybe undecided whether to move higher or lower
  • As the volatility in survey results mirrors the volatility in the average promotional price, it seems that industry players would do well to give value a longer-term run given that consumers probably do better with a greater degree of price certainty
